I am an assistant camera by trade who's currently changing career paths towards the DIT position. I own a kit which handles footage offloads and backups, and any of the editing tasks that is required by the DIT position. I also use an advanced piece of software that securely and asyncronously transfers the footage to multiple destinations at the same time. This allows for a fast turn-around time for cards, all while providing security through cryptographic confirmation that exceeds industry standard. My kit comes with its own RAID controller that allows for even better protection for the files. Thus, you can be sure that your files will be looked after to the utmost degree.I have worked many productions with the ARRI system, as well as the RED system. Thus, I know them front and back, top to bottom, not only a DIT, but also as an AC. These two perspectives allow me to have a complete knowledge of the systems.
