Born in Dallas, Jose Anthony Gutierrez discovered his love for entertainment, from an early age. His grandfather fueled his curiosity by bringing him things like instruments, art supplies, and films. He was always interested in the filmmaking aspect of film, but never had an opportunity to learn about it. It wasn’t until his junior year in high school where he enrolled in an AV/Tech Communications class that his teacher secretly turned into a film class. From there, he learned the basics of the camera and the process of composing a shot, after a while he got to get behind a camera to write and direct a short film with his classmates, that was when he solidified his love for filmmaking. He enrolled in the University of Texas at Arlington as a film major in 2020, however, he had a hard time learning about the filmmaking process due to the pandemic. As the years went on, he began to learn more about the filmmaking process. He’s explored various roles both on and off set ranging from director to art designer, this has provided him with plenty of knowledge about all the moving pieces involved with making a film. and gained a passion for working with the camera. He is currently continuing his studies and is working on expanding his portfolio as he attempts to establish himself as a filmmaker.
