Leonardo R. Cuervo is a Mexican American actor known for leading-man presence, emotional intensity, and psychologically grounded performances. At 5’11” with hazel eyes and a commanding yet introspective screen energy, he often portrays ambitious professionals, romantic leads, and morally complex protagonists navigating power, identity, and high-stakes environments.
His screen work includes Brat TV and multiple lead performances in independent films including Sacred Blood, Casanova, Jealousy of Alexa, For The Record, and Crib Masters. He has also appeared in recurring and supporting roles in Together Forever, Stop Calling Me Miss, and Tomorrow’s Teachings. Upcoming stage projects include Hecklers with Palabrandar Theater Company and No Suicide in Spring (Prohibido Suicidarse En Primavera) at East Los Angeles College.
Born in the United States and raised on the Texas border in a bilingual household, Leonardo speaks Spanish fluently and brings cultural nuance to both English and Spanish-language roles. He has additional experience with French, Mandarin Chinese, and Japanese.
He trained extensively at Andrew Wood Acting Studio, Deborah Lemen Acting Studio, Anthony Meindl’s Actor Workshop, and Nancy Friedman’s Acting for TV and Film. His craft emphasizes emotional truth, psychophysical intention, and cinematic stillness.
Leonardo holds a Master of Healthcare Administration and a B.A. in Psychology and Biology, previously working in medical and research environments, informing his portrayals of lawyers, doctors, scientists, and authority figures. He holds a brown belt in karate, sings baritone, plays piano and guitar, rides horses, and performs multiple accents including British, Southern, Mexican, Spanish, and French.
