Making a movie outside the Hollywood system has
never been easier.

All it takes is a Troublemaker.

Opened in 2001 to accommodate the production needs of director Robert Rodriguez and producer Elizabeth Avellán, and has since helped to establish Austin, Texas as a leader in feature film production.

Located inside the decommissioned Robert Mueller Airport complex, Troublemaker retrofitted this expansive site into a state-of-the-art production facility, capable of accommodating multiple productions simultaneously and featuring ample on-site production, fabrication and post facilities.

Troublemaker Studios has proudly served as home to a number of Film and Television productions including From Dusk Till Dawn Season One, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Machete, Predators, Grindhouse, Sin City, The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D and the Spy Kids series.

In addition to its turn-key production facilities, Troublemaker offers an array of both previsualization and post-production options. A full-service HD post-production pipeline offers on-site editorial and sound mixing facilities. Troublemaker’s visual effects team, Troublemaker Digital, offers world class previsualization, storyboarding, design as well as 2D compositing and cutting-edge CGI.
