It was a straight to video, die-hard-in-a-mall action adventure titled, Point Blank. My whole life had been building up to that moment. I was an Honor Thespian, I was awarded with the UIL All Star Cast award and I was still riding the high from being voted “Most Talented” by my senior class. When my feet first hit the set, I remember thinking that this must be what presidents feel like when they take office, a profound sense that you have arrived at your destiny. After a week of night shoots, the novelty quickly wore off, but I still loved every grueling second of it. More opportunities came as the result of my hard work, talent and enthusiasm. I first secured the position of production assistant, and then I reached assistant director. I trained as a storyteller while field producing for reality television. I love finding and maintaining the pace of a series. It was the Q-Television Network that recruited me to produce their internationally syndicated live talk show, On Q Live. At 25 years old, this made me the youngest network cable producer at the time, and part of a team that launched the world’s first gay and lesbian network.
