Jacob Hamilton is best-known for his work as the Director of Photography on DEALT (2017, acquired by IFC Sundance Selects and Audience Award Winner at SXSW) and for his directorial debut with JUMP SHOT (2019), a documentary about Kenny Sailors, the man who invented the modern day jump shot in basketball featuring NBA legends Steph Curry and Kevin Durant, among others. Being based in Austin for 10 years now, Jacob has established himself as a documentary filmmaker within the Austin community working on other films such as, A SINGLE FRAME (2015), LORD MONTAGU (2013), RETURN TO MOGADISHU (2013), RISING FROM ASHES (2012). His cinematography has taken him around globe (30+ countries), filming stories on nearly every continent. However his experience has carried over from documentary to narrative work operating camera on features TRANSPECOS (2016), CRUNCH TIME (2016), BALLS OUT aka INTRAMURAL (2015). His ability to cross between both the documentary and narrative worlds bring a unique, well-rounded perspective to his cinematography.
