Cedar Park, Texas, is a vibrant community situated on the northern border of Austin and just 17 miles from downtown. It is named for an actual park that was a rail stop in the late 1800s. Cedar Park was incorporated as a City in 1973.

True to its namesake, Cedar Park now features 46 City-maintained parks within about 1,000 acres of City-owned parkland and 34 miles of trails. Today’s population is about 83,159. Cedar Park is the next major employment hub of the Austin MSA, with a median age of 34.74 years, and 51.21 percent have a bachelor’s degree or higher.

Cedar Park is home to two professional sports teams: the Texas Stars, an AHL hockey team affiliate of the NHL Dallas Stars, and the Austin Spurs, an NBA G-League basketball team affiliate of the San Antonio Spurs. The Stars and Spurs play at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park, a City-owned multipurpose venue that holds up to 8,700 guests and hosts more than 130 events annually.
