Port Arthur is the Cajun Capital of Texas. This refinery town is on the coast of Sabine Lake and the Gulf. Sea Rim State Park offers beach and marsh views. Larger tankers and ships head to the Port of Port Arthur, passing Pleasure Island, were locals fish. Sabine Woods in an internationally famous birding oak mott that draws spring and fall migrants. The downtown area is vintage and offers an "anytime" look.
Port Arthur has a proud and diverse population with celebrations including Cajun Fest, Mexican Heritage Fiesta, Juneteenth and Garden Fest at Buu Mon Buddhist Temple.
