A note on the 2024 renovation: TPWD said the scope of work includes a replacement of windows for the rooms, office spaces, and the Black Bear restaurant. There was also demolition, renovation, and installation of pergolas throughout the lodge.

Additionally, the project will replace guest room doors and frames, install a new access control system for guest rooms, replace the main water line for the lodge, replace the boiler serving for the restaurant, provide new area lighting throughout the exterior of the lodge, and provide accessible parking.

TPWD said they are also redesigning and renovating the courtyard between two buildings and creating a path of travel serving the courtyard and pool area.
