"San Antonio's historic Main Plaza, at the heart of the city, dates back to the early 1700s. The city lovingly restored it in spring of 2008. This innovative public space, with huge trees, bubbling fountains, sidewalks, tables and soft landscaping, vitalizes the city's center core. Known historically as the Heart of the City, Main Plaza was named as one of the 10 Great Public Spaces in the United States. This national honor is the first designation for San Antonio."
