The Miles City Park is also known as the Kornegay-Treadaway Memorial Park, remembering George Kornegay, who died from wounds suffered during World War I and John Treadaway, who died during World War II. West 1st Street divides the park into two sections, each taking up a city block. Park side #1 has a stage, bleachers, picnic tables and the memorial. Park side #2 only has trees, although a basketball court may be built at the far end in the future. There are pecan, live oak, hackberry and mesquite trees. It is very beautiful and green during the late spring and summer. City staff keep it mowed. There are houses on the other three streets around park side #1. St. John Street divides park side #2 from a park owned by the Miles Preservation Authority, a local historical group. There would not be a problem merging both parks for a film shoot. Park side #2 also merges into the city playground. There is a city-owned water storage tank at one end of the playground and a house across from it on Ferguson Street. Railroad Avenue runs on the other side of park side #2 and there is a long stretch of vacant city-owned land on the other side of the avenue.
