Historic Wooden Railroad Bridge
United States / Miles, Texas
Location ID: #10196590
The historic wooden railroad bridge dates back to the 1940's. It is approximately 100 feet long and is still used for freight trains by the Texas Pacifico Railroad. Two to three trains come through Miles daily, usually mid-afternoon and late at night. There is a wide strip of land between the bridge and Railroad Avenue, which also runs alongside the City Park. The City of Miles owns this strip of land and maintains it. On the other side is an even wider strip of land between the bridge and the service road for U.S. Highway 67. It is possible to climb onto the bridge from both sides.
