Carleton Adams (1885-1964) and his uncle Carl founded Adams & Adams, San Antonio’s leading commercial architectural firm from the 1910s to the 1950s. He designed houses for many of San Antonio’s elite but specialized in large commercial and public structures. Adams later became architect for the Texas A&M university system, and several of his designs are now state and national landmarks.
