Ron Wright Lake Arlington Branch Library is located at 4000 W Green Oaks Blvd, Arlington, TX 76016. The City dedicated the Lake Arlington Branch Library in memory of the late U.S. Rep. Ron Wright, who also served as Tarrant County Tax Assessor-Collector and Arlington City Council member. Mr. Wright, a long-time Arlington resident known for his passion for historical preservation, was elected to Congress representing the 6th District of Texas in 2018. Prior to that, he served as Tarrant County tax assessor-collector from 2011 to 2017 as well as an at-large representative on the Arlington City Council from 2000 to 2008. In addition to his many leadership roles on local boards and commissions, Mr. Wright was the founding president of the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation Board of Directors. A sixth-generation resident of Tarrant County, Mr. Wright graduated from Azle High School in 1971 and then moved to Arlington to attend The University of Texas at Arlington. He was active in political affairs and community service work for more than 30 years and served on numerous boards and commissions focused on issues such as historical preservation, homelessness prevention and improving education.
