The Terrell Municipal Airport was created before WWII to train British Flyers before the U.S. entered the war. As an ally the American government made an agreement with the United Kingdom/England to create training schools for their pilots since the infrasture and airfields in Europe had been destroyed. The No. 1 BFTS continued operations training thousand of British Flyers until WWII ended. Since then the Terrell Municipal Airport has continued to operate and Terrell's entralized location and proximity to major highways make it a prime address for business flying.
