The Hamilton Greenbelt trail network in Lakeway, including Smith Greenbelt and Hurst Creek Preserve, offers several miles of both developed and primitive trails that wander along Hurst and Yaupon creeks. These areas are fabulous places for family outings, walks and jogs or a bike ride. The two main trailheads provide parking. The entrance off of Lohmans Crossing at Cross Creek (across from the Lakeway Justice Center) leads you to Hamilton Greenbelt I. The entrance off of Palos Verdes Drive leads you to Hamilton Greenbelt II. Near the front entrance of the Hamilton Greenbelt Trail I (off of Lohmans Crossing), visitors will find a lovely garden area with a fountain. Throughout the trail there are small waterfall features, trails with canyon-like views, various tables and benches, a bird blind, a rainbow bridge (where residents place dog collars of pets that have passed), and several other nature features.
