Mauermann Ranch House
United States / Lakeway, Texas
Location ID: #10304785
Erected in the 1930s by Gus Mauermann, this building served as quarters for ranch hands of the Mauermann Ranch, later known as the Josey Ranch before Lakeway was a city. This nearly 200 sq foot building is known locally as the "Rock Room" because of the structure being made mostly of rocks. In the 1970s and 1980s it was owned by a property company and in the mid 1980s it served as a headquarters for the local Boy Scouts. A windmill and other historic elements sit outside the house. It's located directly next to the Lakeway Heritage Center.
