Tucked minutes from downtown Austin near Zilker Park and Barton Springs Road, the UMLAUF Sculpture Garden + Museum offers filmmakers a rare combination of manicured garden, natural woodland, and gallery-quality art within a single, gated 5-acre property. Designed in 1991 with ongoing landscape improvements, the grounds move guests (and cameras) through winding stone pathways, a hillside waterfall, a meandering brook, and two koi ponds, all framed by mature oak trees and native Texas plantings. Charles Umlauf's bronze and stone sculptures are placed throughout the landscape, giving nearly every angle a finished, art-directed backdrop without additional set dressing. The property offers several distinct looks in one location: a covered outdoor terrace with string lighting suitable for dining, receptions, or dialogue scenes; an open lawn and arbor area that reads as a natural amphitheater or ceremony space; a light-filled indoor gallery/meeting room (the Crenshaw Room) with panoramic garden views for interiors; and the sculpture garden itself for walk-and-talks, art-world settings, or tranquil exteriors. The site can flex from intimate 40-person interiors to 250+ person outdoor gatherings, with on-site parking, an event/venue manager, and a catering kitchen available to support production needs.
