Description:
The McIntyre Street Project will anchor a proposed arts and restaurant district extending through the heart of Edinburg. The street has been transformed into a half mile-long (or six city blocks) of green pedestrian walkway space. The street is city-owned land and is slated to become a residential complex for UT RGV students, connecting the UT RGV campus and Performing Arts Center with Edinburg City Hall, Edinburg Municipal Auditorium, Downtown Edinburg, Hildalgo County Courthouse and a proposed Valley Metro transit hub. The project is currently in phase one in its greater plan.
