"Built in the 1950s and opened March 29th, 1957, the hospital served as the main medical institution at the Fort Wolters military base in Mineral Wells, TX. When constructed, this hospital was the first of its kind to specialize in aviation medicine for the US Army. The building closed on January 12th, 1973, only a couple months before all US troops withdrew from Vietnam. The nearby base also mostly shut down, and numerous other structures are either abandoned or re-purposed for civilian usage. The hospital has seen a few uses throughout the years, most recently as a flea market, but has laid in abandoned decay for the past decade."
