Description:The park was named as a tribute to S.J. Stovall and his influence on Arlington’s development including the Interstate 20 Project, Arlington Convention Center and city hall. Stovall served as an Arlington City Council member for 14 years and mayor for six years. History is at the heart of S.J. Stovall Park. Named for the man who served the city for 20 years, first as a council member and then as mayor, the park has everything needed for the perfect day of family fun. Miles of hike, bike and equestrian trails, sand volleyball courts and a pavilion that seats 150 people are just a few of the park’s amenities. But it is the Bad Königshofen Family Aquatic Center, named for Arlington’s sister city in Germany, that is not only the star of this park but is perhaps the best-kept secret in the Metroplex. It features an interactive spray pad, shallow water play pool, lap pool, diving area and two water slides.
