Description:
Valkyrie Ranch is a 500 acre wildlife preserve consisting of sections of native forests, improved pastures (grasses), wildflower / native plant pastures, and streams and lakes. The property has many elevations, including 100' cliffs and rolling hills. The ranch is the venue for "Freezer Burn" (the regional Burn akin to "Burning Man"), the "Texas Viking Festival", and other large events. It also has barns, stables, and cabins as well as equestrian facilities. Home of Thorin's Viking Brands, Valkyrie Ranch houses the largest meadery in North America and has multiple buildings designed to look and function as ancient Norse / Viking structures including a round-house and long-house. The ranch is fully accessible by semi trailers and large vehicles, offers RV hookups, and ample power and utilities for any crew. The entire property is enclosed in a 10' fence, with secure access at the main gate including a guard house. Located just 30 minutes from downtown Austin, Texas and nestled between the cities of Smithville and Elgin, this is some of the original settled area of Texas. The ranch is teaming with natural beauty, exotic and functionally extinct animals (it is a wildlife preserve focused on conservation and repatriation efforts), and is outside of normal flight paths or other distracting noise sources.
