Description:
The building that houses the Miles City Hall was constructed in the early 1900's, but the facade was redone only a few years ago. The city secretary and her assistant have their offices here, as does the Miles Police Department. The city council and mayor meet here the first Monday of every month. The municipal court also meets here for one evening every two to three months. There is light foot traffic throughout the day with people paying their water bills or police citations, or they may need information or help from the city secretary or police chief. The front part has a table and chairs where the council meets and there are extra chairs for the public. There is a counter that separates the city secretary from the public. Down the hallway is the police department. The end of the hallway opens into a storage room with an overhead door and a restroom. City Hall fronts Robinson Street and its historic 1926 brick streets. On one side is a city-owned lot that has been turned into a public place. Behind city hall is another lot that is shared with the Miles Volunteer Fire Department. Adjoining on the other side is the Masonic Hall. City Hall is on the second block of downtown.
