Location Name - Kimber Creek (Texas Building)
108 N. Mason
Bowie 76230

County: Montague
Region: North Central
Location ID: 10191409

Description:
While this location is still a few weeks from officially being open it is a building that has been carefully restored from what is believed to be the 1900s. It was abandoned years ago after being used as the Frank Green carpet store. While under construction the owner Brad Sherman discovered many vintage murals and restored them while including new murals that pay homage to the history of downtown Bowie, Texas. It is a replacement building for Kimber Creek Trading Post that was leveled during the EF-0 tornado that struck downtown Bowie on May 22, 2020. There is a pallet wall rescued from the original building with other pieces displayed in the new building that is located just behind the former Kimber Creek store on Smythe Street. This building also includes a mezzanine and exposed ceiling along with vintage signage found during the construction phase. The front windows open to service the front of the building as well as a future backyard turf surface garden with specialty lights, water features, and fencing all planned for the Texas Building.
