Description:Zedler Mill Museum & Park is one of Luling’s most scenic and historically rich filming locations—a restored 19th-century mill complex set along the peaceful San Marcos River. Spanning 9.32 acres, the property blends industrial-era architecture with natural Texas beauty, offering filmmakers a visually striking mix of historic structures, waterfront vistas, and open green space. Originally established in 1874, Zedler Mill is the last remaining example of the many mills once powered by the San Marcos River. Its preserved buildings—including the main mill factory, corn sheller, corn crib, mule barn, scale house, smokehouse, and office—provide an authentic backdrop for period pieces, rural settings, and Texas heritage storytelling. The site also features a concrete dam, riverbank frontage, an outdoor amphitheater, canoe dock, and event pavilion, creating a versatile environment for both historical and contemporary productions. The restored complex reflects more than a century of evolution, from its origins as a grist mill and cotton gin to its role as Luling’s early power and water supplier. Today, Zedler Mill stands as a beautifully revitalized cultural landmark, complete with museum exhibits, a video history, and a self-guided audio tour. Nearby, the 1900 Fritz Zedler House—available for rental—adds another period-appropriate filming location.
