Description:The Good Friend Theater is the home of ComedySportz, Houston’s longest-running, interactive improv comedy show. For 35+ years, the theater company’s versatile, passionate, and experienced staff members have provided high-quality and family-friendly experiences that ensure everyone of all ages has a good time, including comedy shows, improv classes, karaoke, date nights, birthday parties, and even corporate entertainment, training, and team building. The Good Friend Theater is located within a small mixed-use business park right off a busy road where it operates alongside a church, ice cream shop, dance studio, behavioral health center, bicycle shop, skilled trades employment agency, and an axe throwing venue. There is a sidewalk along with multiple parking spots in front of the theater’s entrance, which consists of tall glass doors and windows. But don’t let this simple outside appearance fool you! Inside, visitors and loyal fans alike will find a spacious facility with lots of charm. The main lobby contains vibrant wallpaper, line dividers, a small box office, and a bar and lounge area that create the perfect atmosphere for capturing footage of folks having a fun night out. As you make your way past the lobby and throughout the building’s decorated hallways, you’ll discover two main theater rooms, a cozy green room, and a large classroom that are well suited to accommodate a variety of entertainment-focused filming needs. Along the way are several handicap-accessible bathrooms that tout a mixture of luxury and community with black and white floor tiling, circular mirrors, marble-style sinks, golden faucets, and even pictures of the theater staff’s pets. Throughout the theater, there are several different shades of dark colors on the walls as well as diverse kinds of overhead and stage lighting that not only add to the facility’s character but also serve as a great backdrop for more stylized or intimate shots. Lastly, there are plenty of couches, chairs, tables, and company mementos that are ideal for casual scenes.
